The path “Pearls of Spirituality”, which draws on the experience of the spirituality of the Focolare Movement, also begins at Loppiano.
Although the usual warm weather of this season is struggling to break through, the desire for a holiday is definitely in the air. It is time to slow down, take some time for yourself, to be recharged with real energy. Gocce di Spiritualita’ is the residential path proposed by Loppiano to irrigate the many deserts that the pandemic may have created in our lives. It draws on the experience of the Spirituality of Unity that is typical of the Focolare.
«Jesus answered, ‘Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life». (John 13 – 14)
Chiara Lubich once commented on this sentence from John’s Gospel, saying: “These words of Jesus are addressed to all of us thirsty people in this world. He says them to all those who are aware of their spiritual dryness and still feel the pangs of thirst. He says to all those who no longer seem to feel a need to drink at the spring of true life and great human values. But ultimately Jesus addresses this invitation to all the people in today’s world, telling all of us where we can find the answer to all our whys and the full satisfaction of all our desires”. The spirituality of Chiara Lubich was born from a communitarian experience of the Gospel. It has also been called a collective or communitarian spirituality which contains twelve key points: God-Love, God’s Will, the Word, the Neighbor, Mutual Love, Jesus in the Eucharist, Unity, Jesus Forsaken, Mary, the Church-Communion, the Holy Spirit, Jesus In The Midst.
The Pearls of Focolare Spirituality Residential Path is designed to be experienced on two weekends. It offers a personal and community experience of these foundational points of Focolare Spirituality through moments of guided reflection, sharing, personal reflection, testimonies and prayer.
The next two Pearls of Focolare Spirituality are scheduled for: June 11 – 13, 2021 and July 2 – 4, 2021. The program will observe local Covid 19 guidelines.
