Griot Workshop: narrative capital to generate the future of the economy
Narrative capital to generate the future of the economy
Two days of workshops, study, and discussion at the Polo Lionello Bonfanti (April 23–24)
It’s not just financial or technological capital: businesses and organizations also thrive on an invisible but decisive asset, narrative capital. It is the set of stories, values, and founding myths that constitute the deep identity of a reality and guide its choices over time. A true “cultural operating system” which, if not regenerated, risks becoming outdated, turning into rigid ideology or sterile nostalgia for the past. To respond to this “narrative famine,” GRIOT – Gruppo Ricerca Imprese Opere Testi (Business Works Texts Research Group) was created, a research-action workshop developed in the context of The Economy of Francesco, in dialogue with Polo Lionello Bonfanti and the Kaleidon communication agency. Inspired by the figure of the African griot, guardian of memory and narrator of the community, the project aims to “revive the economy” through new codes and languages. On April 23 and 24, at Polo Lionello Bonfanti (Figline e Incisa Valdarno, FI), GRIOT is promoting two days of workshops, study, and discussion, launching a double call open to different but complementary worlds:
- Call for Papers, aimed at the academic world (Economics, Management, Sociology, Philosophy, History), to investigate the nature, dynamics, and regeneration of narrative capital in businesses.
- Call for Contributions, aimed at entrepreneurs, managers, communicators, artists, and students, to collect case histories, stories of generational transitions, and creative multimedia contributions.
Not just content production, but a real meeting: all authors and contributors will be invited to participate in two days of work with the Scientific Committee, in an experience of collective intelligence that combines research, creativity, and entrepreneurial practice. DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSIONS: March 31, 2026 More info HERE.
