That’s why ‘Formato Famiglia’ is returning to Loppiano – a programme dedicated to couples, parents and families who wish to take some time for themselves, catch their breath, share experiences with others and grow in the relationships that matter most.
Every family has a unique story. One made up of affection, challenges, days that fly by, conversations that go well and others that would benefit from being revisited more calmly. That’s why, every now and then, taking a break isn’t a luxury. It’s a necessity.
This is the inspiration behind the ‘Formato Famiglia’ weekends’, the events that Loppiano dedicates to couples, parents and families who wish to nurture their relationships. An opportunity to carve out some quality time, connect with other families, share experiences and discover practical tools for tackling the challenges of daily life together.
Not a school for perfect families, but a space where we can grow together. Because the most important relationships need to be nurtured, renewed and, at times, simply listened to.
During the ‘Formato Famiglia’ events, adults, children and teenagers take part in activities tailored to different age groups, in an atmosphere of warmth, dialogue and sharing that makes Loppiano a true community on a journey.

‘Formato Famiglia’ is a programme dedicated to families, offering seven events throughout the year and a summer holiday in June. It takes place in Loppiano (Incisa and Figline Valdarno – FI), the international little town of the Focolare Movement nestled in the Tuscan hills – a place where, for over sixty years, people and families from different cultures and countries have been experiencing a way of life based on encounter, dialogue and fraternity. Since 2023, almost 1,000 families have come into contact with this experience. For many, it has been an opportunity to rediscover spaces for dialogue, strengthen their relationship as a couple, tackle difficulties with a fresh perspective and rediscover the beauty of their vocation.
Accompanied by a welcoming team of families and experts, participants will have the opportunity to rest, share their experiences, grow, discover themselves and reflect on their relationship as a couple. In short, to share what it actually means to live as a family today. Because it isn’t always easy. Raising children, navigating changes in a couple’s relationship, and balancing different schedules, needs and responsibilities requires energy, active listening and the ability to keep moving forward. Formato Famiglia does not offer ready-made solutions or models of the ‘perfect family’. It proposes growing together. To pool experiences, questions, difficulties and discoveries, learning from one another and finding new ways to build, day by day, a shared life plan.
